The Artist

Chris Nordin

Master Glass Artist and Sculptor

Chris Nordin’s creative journey has been driven by one primary mission - to create artwork that affects people in a way they never would have experienced had their paths not crossed. Trained at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, Chris chose a different path from his family’s steel business to pursue metalworking – creating sculptures that incorporated a mix of materials, including glass, metal, stone and wood.

As an artist, Chris always wanted to be as technically accomplished as possible to create any art he imagined. To that end, he is a master glass artist and an accomplished blacksmith and fabricator. He trained in Venice, Italy, and with one of the world’s most renowned glass innovators, Lino Tagliapietra. His passion for continually refining his craft allows him to design a limitless range of artwork, from forged steel sculpture to the most delicate Venetian stemware.

Chris incorporates his mastery of materials when designing custom artwork for individuals and corporations, including artwork for Marriott International, the Detroit Institute of Arts and Mott Children’s Hospital. He is respected for his ability to translate a client’s ideas into an exciting design and, subsequently, a beautiful piece of art.

Sculptural Reflections is the realization of Chris’ dream to offer expressive memorial fine art of high quality and unique design. Chris brings his experience in custom design and technical know-how to create artwork that can take on virtually any shape or size and trains his team with the same high standards of artistry and integrity. As a spiritual person, he seeks to illuminate the human spirit and provide timeless sculptures that symbolically capture the memories of family and friends. With this powerful art form, Chris honors the love shared and allows people to reflect upon their loved ones for years to come.

From Ashes in Art Glass to Sculptural Reflections

Crazy Wisdom Journal wrote a beautiful article about Chris Nordin’s artful process in creating Memorial Fine Art before he changed the name of his business to Sculptural Reflections. Though the article carries the old name of Ashes in Art Glass, the spirit of Chris’s purpose and process are the same. You can find the article here. We are grateful to Crazy Wisdom Journal and Christine MacIntyre for capturing the essence of Chris Nordin’s artistry and intentions.
